Sounding Off – Cameron Hayley:

What can you take away from Daytona earlier this season and apply to Talladega this weekend?
“We struggled aero-wise in Daytona, trying to find speed by ourselves. In the race, I was able to utilize the side draft, and race my way up to the front. So, I think the biggest thing I can take away from that is, no matter how our truck is running by itself, we know we can get up front. At that point, its just about staying out of the ‘Big One.’ I didn’t do that at Daytona, I got hit from behind, and cause the ‘Big One.’ Hopefully, this weekend at Talladega we can have a clean race, and a good day.”

How mentally draining, as a driver, is a restrictor plate race?
“It’s huge, and mental is the key word there. It’s not a hard place to race at all, my sister could literally go drive at Talladega and not have an issue by herself, but when you get in the pack, thats where it gets tricky. You are three and four-wide, people are pushing, your trying to side draft, others are side drafting off of you, your spotter is talking to you – there is just a lot to process and keep up with.”
