News and Notes:
- This Week’s No. 13 Century Container Ford F-150… The No. 13 ThorSport Racing team will unload chassis No. 56 for Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Gander Outdoors 150 at Pocono Raceway. Making its track debut in 2016 at Chicagoland Speedway, the truck, dressed in the No. 88 livery, started 13th and finished 27th in that race. Moving to its second year of competition in 2017, the truck finished second at Atlanta Motor Speedway, leading two laps, started fifth at Chicagoland, and finished sixth at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Driven by Myatt Snider in its third year, the No. 13 started 10th and finished 15th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March, driving to an 11th place finish at Chicagoland in June. Overall, the No. 56 chassis has one top-five and three top-10 finishes, leading 12 laps, in its career.
- Facing the Tricky Triangle… With two races at Pocono under his belt, Snider is ready to face the “Tricky Triangle” once again. In 2016, Snider led 33 laps in his first race at the track while competing in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards. There, he started the race fourth, finishing ninth. In his second appearance, Snider started fourth and finished sixth. With two top-10 finishes at Pocono in ARCA, Snider will make his track-debut in the NCWTS this weekend, and is ready to take his Ford F-150 to Victory Lane.
- Dirt Debut Recap… Making his first start on dirt in his racing career, Snider showed strength during the Sixth Annual Eldora Dirt Derby this past week. During the NCWTS first practice session, he turned a lap just underneath the current track record of 19.709 seconds, eventually finishing fourth in final practice later in the day. Snider qualified for Heat Race No. 5, finishing third to line him up to start 15th in the main event. Making his way up to fourth during the second stage of the race, he held strong for several laps. Due to a slick track and tight truck, Snider had to settle for a 20th-place finish.
- Catch Snider at Pocono… Snider will join fellow ThorSport Racing teammates, and other NCWTS drivers, for the track’s Open Garage, Friday, July 27, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET, located in the NCWTS Garage at Pocono Raceway.
Chatting with Myatt Snider…
“I’ve been ready to go to Pocono in a Ford F-150 for a while now – two years, actually. To finally be going with Thorsport Racing, it’s a blessing. Pocono is a track I’ve enjoyed much success at despite limited visits. I led the most laps there in my first start, and ran tandem, trading first and second place with my then-teammate Chase Briscoe in ARCA the whole race. I’ll be looking to continue that success in the Truck series this weekend.”
