News and Notes:
- This Week’s No. 13 Drug Mart Ford F-150… The No. 13 ThorSport Racing team will unload chassis No. 49 for Wednesday night’s Sixth Annual NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Eldora Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway. Making its debut in 2015, the truck has two pole awards, one at Martinsville Speedway and one at Gateway Motorsports Park, both with Ben Rhodes behind the wheel, in addition to five top-five and six top-10 finishes to its record.
- Dirt Derby Debut… Making his first start on dirt Wednesday night, Snider takes to the half-mile Eldora Speedway for the first time in his racing career. Competing in Legends and Bandoleros before moving to the CARS Late Model Stock Tour, the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards and eventually the NCWTS, Snider has little experience on dirt, testing a dirt stock car this past weekend at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, North Carolina.
- Fun With Ford… Opening their doors to ThorSport Racing, Snider and his teammates got an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, ahead of the Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway. With a footprint that’s over 7.5 million square feet and 420 acres, the plant is home to 8,500 employees that produce 1,500 F-Series, Super Duty pickups, Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The largest Ford plant in North America, and the second largest globally, it can take as little as eight to 10 hours to create one “Built Ford Tough” vehicle.
- Catch Snider at Eldora… Snider will join fellow ThorSport Racing teammates, and other NCWTS drivers, for a series autograph session, Wednesday, July 18, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. ET, located in the Multipurpose Building behind the grandstands in Turns 3 and 4 at Eldora Speedway.
Chatting with Myatt Snider…
“I’m going into Eldora with an open mind and a positive attitude. This race is what you make it, and I feel like I can, and will, have a lot of fun throwing some dirt in my Drug Mart Ford F-150. I want to go there and be as effective as I can in figuring out the track, and the truck’s handling, as this is a whole new world for me. Luckily though, I won’t be turning my first laps on dirt, as I was able to test a few laps in a street stock at Carolina Speedway this past weekend. It gave me a good idea of what to expect, and I was able to get some valuable advice from a few dirt regulars. After the experience, I’m really excited for Wednesday night.”
