- This Week’s No. 13 Liberty Tax Ford F-150… The No. 13 Liberty Tax team will unload chassis No. 56 for Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Stratosphere 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS). A brand-new build in 2016, chassis No. 56 has raced its way to a top-five (second in 2017 at Atlanta Motor Speedway) and two top-10 finishes (sixth in 2016 and seventh in 2017 at Homestead-Miami Speedway).
- Playing with Pit Stops… Showcasing strength when it mattered most, Snider and the No. 13 team used pit stop strategy to their advantage in Atlanta, opting to take two tires instead of four coming to the late-race restart in this past weekend’s Active Pest Control 200. Leading the field to the green flag, Snider found himself taking the checkered flag for his first top-10 of the season, a seventh-place finish.
- Last Year in Las Vegas… Though Snider currently competes for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors at season’s end, this isn’t his first trip to Las Vegas in the NCWTS. Despite an early end to his 2017 race, Snider looks to redeem himself on the 1.5-mile tri-oval superspeedway in Sin City this year, capitalizing on his momentum from Atlanta.
- Catch Snider at Las Vegas… Snider will join fellow ThorSport Racing teammates for the NCWTS autograph session in Neon Garage at LVMS from 1-1:45 p.m. PT Friday, March 2.
Chatting with Myatt Snider…
Recapping Atlanta’s finish, what was going through your mind leading the field to the green after your two-tire pit stop?
“It was, ‘Don’t spin the tires.’ I knew I needed to have as good of a restart as I could get to stay out front. Brett (Moffitt) got the jump on me and was able to get past me, which then put us in the middle of a three-wide battle. I still feel I kept the tires on pretty good, all things considered, for my first restart at Atlanta. We capitalized as best as we could, considering how we ran most of the day, I’m happy. Ending up with a top-10 finish was good. Once we adjusted the truck, and got it handling where we wanted it, we were really fast – we were the second-fastest truck on the track at one point. The speed is there, we just need to capitalize with track position and we’ll be in contention for a win in no time.”
What are you most looking forward to racing in Las Vegas this weekend, and what goals do you have for the team?
“It’s a fun track. I like racing in Vegas. Our goal is to continue the momentum we have coming out of Atlanta. I think if we keep meshing as well as we have and making the right adjustments, we’ll be upfront in no time, contending for a win. We’ll be able to capitalize on what we’ve learned so far this season, and I feel our hard work and efforts will pay off very soon. Hopefully, we’ll make the right gamble again this weekend in Las Vegas, leading us to a jackpot and Victory Lane.”
