Cameron Hayley Race Recap:

The No. 13 Cabinets by Hayley Toyota driver started fourth in Saturday’s Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. The Alberta, Canada native worked his way up to third by lap 50 and remained in the top five until he passed Kyle Busch on lap 114 for second. Hayley continued his march toward the front and was listed as the leader on lap 152, leading the field for the ensuing 11 circuits. On lap 164, under caution, Hayley brought his Toyota Tundra to the attention of his crew for four tires, fuel and a round of adjustments to help with the handling on his No. 13 machine. The ThorSport Racing driver restarted ninth on lap 170 but quickly worked his way back into the top five by lap 181, and stayed inside the top-five until coming to pit road for his final stop with just over 25 laps remaining. However, a majority of the lead lap trucks did not pit, and the sophomore driver would restart 22nd with 26 laps remaining. With fresh tires, Hayley was able to maneuver his way through traffic, and stay out of trouble through the caution-filled final laps to score his second top-10 finish at Martinsville Speedway.

Quotes:

“Our day started off really good. Our Cabinets by Hayley Toyota Tundra was really strong at the beginning of the race, led a bunch of laps, and then the tire game started, and we just made a pit strategy that we probably shouldn’t have. Hard to tell in those situations, but we battled back from 18th there and finished with a top-10 – that’s all we could ask for.”
